A man it was impossible to force into any framework. Emin's younger brother. Where Emin preferred official methods, Pervin from his youth had moved in a completely different environment — and remained an independent, influential figure.
Pervin Aliyev grew up in his elder brother's shadow — and built a figure of his own, unlike anyone else's. He had his own circle and kept relations with people who did not always have spotless reputations.
His influence did not depend on any position in the organisation. He commanded his own connections and resources, which had existed long before BRATVA appeared.
A considerable part of his activity stayed outside the corporate ledgers. His attachment to his former environment was rooted not only in money: for him the old ties were part of his life, and he had no intention of simply crossing out of his circle the people with whom he had been through hard times.
Within BRATVA his role was a special one: he represented the interests of an independent circle of people who did not want to depend wholly on the corporate leadership. At the same time Pervin understood perfectly that such a past could become a serious problem for the organisation.
His relations with Emin rested on mutual respect, although their views on many questions differed. Emin wanted the organisation to replace the informal circles; Pervin had no intention of changing who he was for a fine name on an office door.
Later it was precisely the confrontation between Pervin and Anar that became one of the chief fault lines in the organisation after Emin's death.
Pervin's family line is described in the fund briefly: on principle he kept his close ones outside BRATVA's public field.
The loss of his brother weighed most heavily on Pervin. He was convinced that behind the tragedy stood not chance but the desire of certain people to gain more power.
Pervin discussed what had happened with the remaining founders, but the reaction was divided: only Murad Badirov said he was ready to back him in the confrontation with Anar.
The restaurant “50 Qəpik” became the setting for their warning. According to one version of the chronicle, when Anar came out of the toilet a fight broke out — he was beaten and told never again to interfere in the lives of the founders and their families. After this, relations between the participants soured for good, and Pervin himself withdrew from his former circle.
Pervin remains in the archive as proof: an organisation can be founded by a decision, but that decision cannot annul another person's life and another person's ties.
Three pages of the dossier are filed blank. Blank pages in this fund are also an answer — and the costliest one.
The other founders of BRATVA. The five, each of whom represented a separate side of the future organisation.
